Lynn Rafferty

Judy was born in Ireland and raised in London before moving back to Ireland in her early teens. Growing up between both countries allows her to move effortlessly between a range of British and Irish accents.

Lynn Rafferty is an actor and writer from Dublin’s north inner city. She trained at Bull Alley Performing Arts School and The Gaiety School of Acting, establishing a strong foundation in classical and contemporary performance.

Her screen credits include The Lost Children of Tuam, directed by Frank Berry, the critically discussed drama The Woman in the Wall, the RTÉ crime thriller Blackshore, and the feature film Just Frankie. She also stars in the North American crime movie Bad Behind Bars, earning a Canadian Screen Award nomination for her performance as Tracy Brown, with critics highlighting the emotional intensity and nuance she brought to the role.

Lynn is perhaps best known for her lead role as Detective Inspector Jen Rooney in Taken Down, a series praised for its gritty realism and social commentary. Her portrayal of Rooney was noted for its authority and emotional depth. She is also widely recognised for her role as Nadine in Love/Hate, one of Ireland’s most acclaimed dramas, celebrated for its raw depiction of Dublin’s criminal underworld.

An accomplished voice actor, Lynn is a series regular in Netflix’s Daniel Spellbound and voices lead character Thorn in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege by Ubisoft.

Alongside her acting career, Lynn is an accomplished writer and creator. Her Screen Ireland-funded short film Return, which she wrote, executive produced, and starred in, premiered at Galway Film Fleadh and went on to enjoy a successful international festival run. She studied improvisation and sitcom writing at The Second City and was selected for the prestigious Corus Writer’s Apprentice Program at the BANFF World Media Festival.
