Paddy McDonnell
Paddy McDonnell is a Northern Irish comedian, actor and writer from West Belfast whose unmistakable storytelling style has made him one of the most recognisable comic voices on the Irish circuit.
Paddy is currently touring his latest stand-up show across the UK and Ireland, following a run of sold-out performances in Belfast. He recently finished filming on several new comedy projects in development for television, expanding his growing presence on screen.
Paddy’s stage work includes five acclaimed one-man shows, with Dagger becoming the standout hit of the Belfast Belly Laughs Festival—selling out and earning 5-star audience acclaim. His comedy draws heavily on his years as a taxi driver and the everyday chaos of family life, delivered with his signature high-energy storytelling.
He has also taken his comedy worldwide, performing to Irish diaspora audiences on tours across America and Australia.
Critics and audiences have praised McDonnell’s unique voice and magnetic stage presence:
“A natural born storyteller with unstoppable momentum.”
“Chaotic, honest and brilliantly observed.”
“McDonnell’s command of the room is electric from start to finish.”
Paddy is a regular performer at all major Belfast comedy nights and has hosted The Empire’s Belfast Laughs Back comedy club. He is also the first comedian to have performed at the West Belfast Féile an impressive six times.
He has shared the stage with leading acts including Frankie Boyle, Jason Manford, Patrick Kielty and Andrew Maxwell.
Paddy has sold out some of Belfast’s biggest venues, headlining the Limelight, the Ulster Hall, the Waterfront Hall and two back-to-back shows at the SSE Arena—cementing his reputation as one of Northern Ireland’s most in-demand comedians.
Paddy continues to develop new work for stage and screen, with further projects due to be announced later this year.
