Patrick J. O'Reilly is an award-winning Irish theatre director, facilitator and theatre-maker working across contemporary performance, new writing, devised theatre and interdisciplinary practice. He is Artistic Director of Tinderbox Theatre Company and also works freelance, directing, developing and mentoring artists across Ireland and internationally.

A graduate of the Jacques Lecoq school in Paris, Patrick’s directing credits include RHINO, YERMA, NATURAL DISASTER, SYLVAN, SOMETHING DIFFERENT and UBU THE KING. His adaptation of RHINO received the UK Theatre Award for Best Play Revival, while his writing has been recognised with the Stewart Parker BBC Radio Drama Award.

Patrick also works extensively as a facilitator, delivering workshops, masterclasses and artist development programmes for organisations including the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. Fluent in Irish, he is particularly passionate about creating opportunities for Irish-language artists and developing work that celebrates Ireland’s linguistic and cultural identity.
